UTL UNIVERSAL TRAFFIC LIGHT
The Universal Traffic Light (UTL) is a down-sized variant of the Stop&Go Light, customized in colour, and serving various purposes. Typical installations display a vertical line on the transom below the flight deck level and a vertical arrangement on the hangar wall. Together with the deck mounted Line-Up Lights (LUL) they form a straight line parallel to the centreline of the flight deck and provide a perfect set of reference markings for the horizontal alignment of the helicopter during final approach or special operations. UTLs are also mounted on the flight deck in direct sight of the FDO repeating the deck status.
The UTL is compatible to Night Vision Goggle (NVG) mode according to STANAG 1445 / Stage 2, details depending on the selected light colour.

The light has a low and compact housing made of massive seawater resistant aluminium, designed for performance in extreme marine environments. The light intensity can be dimmed in 65K steps, configured in eight or more user defined levels via the control system.
System integrity and operational reliability is monitored by multiple sensors measuring temperature, humidity, and electric current. These internal electronics provide constant monitoring of the UTL status and ensure that degradations and failures can be detected generally before such event.
Benefit of the electronic features is granted in combination with Optonaval’s software suite Albatross, starting with the module AlbaNavy. Please refer to the relevant Software Documentation.
